Default tire fitment help please

i was wondering if i can fit 225/40/17 on oem rims lowered about 1 inch all they way around

if you're widening the tires to 225s i would still stay with 225/45

the speedometer/odometer will be affected less by staying with the 45 series tire, not to mention your rim will have more protection.
