Default Sidewall strength matters but has no measurements.

I had a set of Micheline pilots 275/30 tires to mount on my 19s, but two tire places couldn't mount it even with 4 guys at it! I went to America's Tires and another local tires shop. Apparently, the sidewall was too strong to push down on the wheel and there was no flex. However, the second tire shop was able to easily mount the S03s because of the flex on the sidewalls. So now I *HAVE* to have s03s despite the horror stories. So my question is:

Is there a measurement for sidewall flex?

i don't think there is measurement, it's a matter of design. they have thick sidewall for strength, etc...

i would try a better shop

thang, PM me or call. I know a place where you can get it done. it shouldn't be a problem at all. HOpefully those guys at America's Tires didn't scratch your rims.

Where those Michelin Pilot PS2 or an old model? I wonder if you would have had the same problem with 275/35/19 as its a wider sidewall.

I was considering the PS2 as its reported to be a softer ride?

Default Sidewall

A rough gauge of the sidewall stiffness of the tire is the speed rating. Also tires with very low profiles many times have reinforced sidewalls because the volume of air is so low. Many places will have a hard time with ultra low profile 19 and 20 inch sizes it's important to find a place that can handle the job.
