Wheel Recommendations?
I am a 28 yr old female, I have a black SC430. I have never bough wheels or anything aftermarket for my cars. I really want to get new wheels but have no idea where to get it or which ones will look good. I have seen some that I liked and was debating on getting a gunmetal color or something. I have looked at Tire Rack but it is hard to tell with the small pictures. Any thoughts or help? I don't want anything too flashy or "pimpish".

Can you give us some idea what's your budget on a new set of rims & tires ? That may help the members here to narrow the choices down in making suggestions to you. Do you want anything larger than the stock wheels(18 x 8)? Depending on the make, they can vary greatly in price. You don't necessarily have to spend too much on a set of wheels to get acceptable quality, but of course it's usually the top of the line ones that will get the most ooo's & ahh's from members of this board. Usually the forged wheels are stronger than the cast wheels and should be less susceptible to bending, but they also cost more.

I just got new tires recently so I would like to stay with my standard tires. I do not know how much good ones cost but I do not want to spend a lot. I want to stay around 2K and under...is that too cheap? I don't know. What about something like gunmetal color? Would that look nice? I don't know if I like chrome too much. It is too flashy for me.

for the sc430, i think 19s or 20s are warranted. 18s (stock size) is just way too small imho. for 19s or 20s, if you want good stuff, i say at least 3k just rims. otherwise you won't get anything decent. or you can try to look into the used market but that means you have to try your luck

Here is an example of a nicely modded SC that is not to "pimpish" as you said, still understated. This car has more than just wheels, it also has a aero kit and is lowrered. IMO this is the model for modding a black SC. These wheels are 20" AutoCouture Magnifiques, I would estimate the wheels at 4.5k or so without tires.
