Lightest 18" wheels / tires for big brake spare?
I need a tire for the spare I'm going to be ordering soon and I'd like for it to be as light as possible.
Brandon, if you read this you previously mentioned that the least expensive wheel you carry that will clear the 355 GT brakes are . 18 x 8 SE Fox 5 at $165.
Do you know the weight of this wheel? Anything you carry that is a few more $$ that will also clear that is lighter?
On the tire for the wheel... I'm not concerned about performance at all as it will only be used temporarily to limp home if I need the spare. Given that overall weight (inflated on wheel) is my most important criteria for the tire, what do you recommend? Other tires on the car are Pirelli Pzero Neros.

Hey Brandon, found this on bimmerfest.
I can just call if that makes it easier, but still want CL to get the credit.

Just wondering because tire weight is a factor that some might take into consideration as well when choosing performance tires...
Thanks!
We do offer most of the manufacturer-supplied tire weights over the phone, but not online.
This is sort of a controversy here on the forums , but we've found that street tire weight has much less relevance than the other features of tire. If all tires in the same category were exactly the same, weight would be a major issue, like it is in wheels. However, with tires being so different from each other, weight ends up being a minor consideration. The differences in grip, steering response, and ride comfort will make more difference in the tire.
If you'd like to find out the manufacturer supplied tire weight on a specific tire, just give us a call
