quick rim question (time sensitive please help me out)
Found some nice "affordable" rims for my gs4. It's 18x7.5 with a +40 offset. The package includes 225/40/18 but I want to go 235/40/18 will this size tire be ok on rims with onlyh 7.5" width? I will be dropping my car about 1.5" with an explosion kit I don't want any rubbing @ all will I hae a problem?
Here are some pix, which do you think would look good on a silver gs with an explosion kit? Lets call it rims #1 and rim #2 I kinda like #1 but want to get 2nd opinion. both are same price

the gs is a classy car and requires a classy rim in my opinion,,,, u really need a five star or something very clean looking with a lip...... the lip is a must!!!! also at least a 19" is the size u need for a gs..... as far as the tire 225/40/18 is the tire size for an accord and others, it will work on the es but is too small for the gs... tell me your budget , and ill try to hook u up with a good deal

I have to say, I don't agree on a GS needing a minimum wheel size of 19". I guess it depends on how much ride quality you want to sacrifice to get that look. IMO, 18s are a huge improvement over the stock 16s or 17s. I'm not feeling those rims, though.

dannie... i have to be honest w/you, both of those rims are a IMO. i dont like either style and a lip are a must... i "settled" for some 18" rims last year that i like and still like, but just want to get some bigger ones now. BUT, it is your car, and to each, his own.

Check out http://www.rdmwheels.com/ or http://www.machiii.net/ for some good deals on wheels, not feeling any of these choices

I'm considering 18 mainly for 1 reason, My car is a daily commuter, about 100 plus miles a day. To have 19's or 20's with 35 series tires will be way to harsh for my liking of comforts. So I guess no one like those rims. Ok I'll continue shopping. I was hoping to spend under 1500 for rims with tires.

19 or 20 is the way to go
the difference in a 35 and 40 tire is extremely minor.... there will be a difference regardless in ride between stock and 18,19,or 20..... if u can come up with about $2100 i can ship u quite a few different style 20's mounted and balanced with NITTO tires!!! I have one in particular in mind that i put on my girls sequoia that looks just like a lowenhart ld6..... will look awesome on a gs,,,,,,if u want i can arrange a picture for you to look at.... that price included the awesome nitto nt555 tire, mounting & balancing, roadforce matching, and lugs and wheel locks,,, even shipping and handling if u live in the lower 48 states..... get up with me for a good deal....also i can send just the rims if u want that too.... another wheel i can get you for that price looks just like the lowenhart br5,,, awesome! if u even want lowenhart's i have those too,,,, im tellin you man i can hook u up with a killer deal..... if anyone else is interested let me know,,, no group buy necessary ,,, just let me know its a CL hookup!! later all
oh yeah i can get u some really nice 18's if thats what u have to have for around your price range with the correct tire size..........but go with the 20", with a good tire and road force balancing u can keep your ride
