Default Brakes on 97 SC300

I just wanted to know if anyone else who has a 97 SC300, has poor brakes. I drove a 92 SC300, and felt a better response in braking then my 97 SC. I have brand new brake pads on the calipers and also bleeded the brakes. The car does slow down, but the brakes responsiveness is very poor, especially had speeds over 60mph. I already have plans for a brake conversion, just wondering if any other owners had this problem. I checked the calipers for frozen calipers but they all seem to be working. Just not as responsive.
Has anyone had a problem with their stock brakes on their 300?

By the way, I also did a search for this on the forum and did not come up with anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated
