hey,
i'm new to this part of the forums, from the sc's portion. anyways my dad has been running nearly bald on his tires, stock tires btw.... he doesn't add too many miles on his car.... anyways i had posted a thread bout rim offsets in the tire section but no one was responding so i'm hoping you guys can help me out.
he's lookin at rims roughly 18x8.5 size and want to know what offset will he need to have it fit so that everything tucks right under the fender. He's on stock shocks/springs and sometimes carries a heavy load in the back so it'll get low in the back. To clarify more, since i'm sorta new to this whole tire mod portion, he wants the tires to fit under the fender and not rub if he hits a dip or carries a heavy load in the rear. He wants the tires to stick as far as possible without rubbing basically. i hope this is clear enough. also what is your opinions on "katana" and "centerline" rims?
TIA

Lexus Champion
For 18x8.5 5 lug x 114.3 mm (Distance between lug holes in millimeters).
He'll definitely be fine with either 235/50/18 and 245/45/18
I recommend 245/45/18 for better handling but the car just might sit a bit low for him if he hauls a great deal.
The offset all depends on the wheel you go with.
Your properly looking at +30- +35. Pretty much in that range is my guess.
