question: what happens to a tire if you drive on it with the directional arrow pointing the wrong way?

i got a flat today and my spare luckily had the arrow pointing in the right direction. but it made me wonder what if it had been on the other side of the car. would that ruin the tire?

oh, i turned into a gas station to quick and went over a curb which squeezed the sidewall against the rim. lucky the rim wasn't bent.

i dont think it will ruin the tire but if its going the wrong direction it can effect things like snow traction and if the tire will hydroplane

it would affect the traction more i believe

and no performance tires on spares imho... get all season. or if you want, get assymmetric performance tires
