Trying to decide between 2 different tires. They are the

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
or
Yokohama AVS dB S2

Both tires will be 245/40/18's

Price difference would be about $400.00 less for the set of Yokos. I was looking to see if any of you had any feedback with either of these tires?

Technics

I have the Yokohama's and I love them, good handling and grip in the rain and dry. The tire is also very quiet on the highway which is an added plus. They're listed as high performance all-seasons with emphasis on performance rather than all-season. I've had experience with these tires in the snow and I agree with the manufacturer, they shouldn't be used in anything more than light snow, nothing more than an inch. After that it's hold on for your life!!

i am getting the nitto nt555 245/35/20 for my 97 sc with the eibach pro kit for a one inch drop...since the twentys will lift the car up...after i put the springs on will the car still sit higher than factory? how long of tire life can i expect on the twentys with the one inch drop? is there anything i can do so the insides of the tires dont wear out dont wear out first because of the drop? if i did coilovers would i have to do fender mods? what exactly is rolling your fenders anyways?

I had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my 01 Nissan Maxima (225 50 17) & they were just awesome even in extremely bad weather including snow, ice & slush! Very expensive however & I am pretty sure they are rated a lot better overall than the yoko's according to the tirerack site & I have to agree with the scores!

Don't have them yet, but I had to make a similar decision recently for my SC430. I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's, because of all the positive feedback here from other SC430 owners. One owner had even tried both the Michelin Pilot Sports' and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's and stated that the softer rubber in the A/S's was a much better ride for the SC430 without foregoing performance. The other advantage to A/S's is they're nice to have for wet roads.

The other tire which gets great positive feedback here and at TireRack is the Goodyear Eagle F1.

I've had no experence with the Goodyears you mentioned.......I had a set years ago on a GM product & next to the Bridgestone Potenza RE 92 on my old Maxima, they were an aweful tire especially in the wet weather, but again they weren't the F1's. Is there much difference in price & what about the treadwear ratings?

Go for the Yokos . I've had them for a year now and they provide a great amount of grip and are very quiet.
