Lightbulb *** new TOM'S wheels, 19s only ***

as i am in search of my next set of wheel, i found this(thanks kyle3481):

for 2004, TOM'S racing of japan has released this ultra light wheel, in 19x8.5+9.5 only:

http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/arcive/04_1_5.htm

what do you guys think? the site described the wheel design with both "elegant & sport" in mind.
however, imho, the "sport" factor outweighs the elegant part...i think this type of wheel design first gained popularity from DTM(german touring) championships.

usually i prefer wheels with good size lips. but this tom's wheel does have significant advantage- it weighs ~22 lbs each for 19s. and it is made using the same machine that produce F-1 racing wheels

price: $840 and $860 each. only diamond polish is available.

A one piece wheel and its 840? That sounds way too high for my tastes.

Nice rim though.

Will,

Your car is black, right? Why not try something a little different, maybe equal parts black and polished/brushed finish?

Amistad O Black Polish

Wed's Kranze LXZ Black Polish

A little wild, yes, but I bet you'll have a lot of people asking where you got them.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a set of 19" gunmetal Volk LE37T's. Common design, sure, but at least they're forged one-piece wheels, which (like the Tom's) is tough to find in 19". Pretty sporty looking though...

Like the Tom's, JDM fans would be asking where you got these (though the original may look better on a black GS):

BBS LM Special Color

I'd like to see what else you are considering

Mike

Hey, I did not know u could get that with polished lips (like on that pic of the GS)? All I've seen, the wheel is all the same color.

Toms's wheel is nice.

thanks for all the inputs guys

anthony, yes, they are pricey. but from anything toms are of high quality

mike, as you know, though i can get/have any rim i see from japan, i still do not see myself spend great deal of $$$ on rims.. ..as you know/see, japan always have good stuff out, and they are soooo tempting
those wheels are def good choices..but a bit on the sportier side for me
