Default Wheels Stolen Off Truck In Driveway

Hi, I need help ASAP. The other night I had my custom 20" wheels stolen off my LX470 in my driveway and it was left sitting on bricks. Today I had my stock wheels put on by TRIPLE AAA and the with the wrong lugnuts (what the theives left behind). So if any LX470 owner can tell me what the Millimeter length is for the lugs I would appreciate it. Lexus and my local Toyota dealer seem dumfounded since they do not have any stock lugnuts for either the Landcruiser or Lx470 and they dont even no the specs. So please I'd appreciate if someone could help me, I need to know the specs of the lugnuts THanks. Or call me at 253 942 8838 and ask for Bruce.

welcome to the forum. you are allowed only one thread on the same subject and it will be this one. You just posted a few minutes ago, so i'd suspect if you have some patience someone will come along and help you that has that info..

welcome to the forum.

This guy I spoke with says I can only use OEM lugs on models 02 and later. Previous models I can use third party lugs...is this true? Can I use lugs other than OEM for my 02 LX470 with that 12mm 1.5??

i don't think there should be a problem using aftermarket lug nuts, provided they are the same specs as OEM. some people put 5 wheels locks on every wheel, which means 5 aftermarket nuts securing the wheel.

sorry to hear about what happened to you. hope they find the punk(s) who ripped you off.

Didn't you have those wheel locks on? or did they have a key for it?

Sorry to hear about that, dude. Damn crooks out there.

Sometimes even if you have a wheel lock all they have to do is take off the other 4 lugs and with the last one they just break it off with a hammer, wrench, crowbar or something. But that makes a lot of noise and sometimes damages a rim. I know people that have 5 locks for each wheel. But if somebody is going to take something he will find a way to take it.

So sorry to hear about that man. I know that it is just a violating feeling, especially since you were home and it was in your yard! I'm no longer amazed by stories like yours since it is so commonplace now, but it is so weird how some of us in this world have a work ethic and we bust our humps to get the things that we want and others resort to stealing the hard earned things of others and they feel no shame or remorse for doing so. Such a contrast in humans.

Will insurance cover your wheels? If so, PLEASE get some wheel locks. Chances are if you had them on those morons would have been detered because it would have taken too long to get the wheel locks off and/or it would have made too much noise in your yard.

I wish you the best man!

What time did this happen?

I would have gotten 5 locks per wheel...it is much more time consuming for crooks to remove the wheels and makes a lot more noise if they bring a lock remover (they have to hit the tool over each lock with a hammer to remove..). With 20 locks....crook probably would have given up or not attempted at all.

Did your insurance company cover replacement wheels?
