Default G's problem: +TC-LSD=-(2)S03

There’s a lesson here. Cause and effect. It’s that damn torque converter. And NO LSD. Long story, shortened:

I’ve been sporting around on my Bridgestone S-03s for about 5,000 miles and the rear pair need replacing (yes, replacing – not much tread left). Lesson: don’t wait long after installing a TC to also install an LSD – you’ll pay for it in rubber.

Next problem: Good luck on finding an S-03 in 275/30/19. None of TireRack’s four warehouses have them – they’re on back order. Seems that the Bridgestone plant that manufactures them burned and they’re expected to be out of production for 9 weeks from 12/4/03. So, do I replace the rear set with another brand – temporarily. Or do I replace all four? If I do that, I’ll be lookin for tires again. I haven’t been entirely pleased with the S-03s – as noted in another thread - they’ve become very noisy and ride is degraded. I know new tires will help both gripes, but then I’m faced with selecting another set. Unless someone talks me out of it, I’ll probably go with the Toyo T-1S.

Appreciate all comments about your satisfaction with whatever you’re riding on now.

I've been hearing good things about the GY Eagle F1 GS-D3. My tires are due for a change in about a month and this is what I'm getting.

My noisy S03's are being replaced by Eagles GSD3's next week. Been sitting in my garage for a few weeks already -- just could not get an earlier time at custom alignment. I'm sure I'll have an opinion to share.

Thumbs up Ordered today

Talked to TireRack today and since they had the Goodyear Eagle F1's in stock in the Louisiana warehouse, i ordered a pair for the rear. They do seem like they're an improvement over the S-03s except in the handling - at least according to the reviews. I'll run on the front S-03 for a little while, and yes I know that mixing the tires isn't a good idea - especially in the handling area. I've got myself on a "budget" and I'll get the front pair next month. Anybody wanna buy a pair of S-03s with 5K miles on 'em?

BTW, thanks for your comments

Unhappy I screwed up

Just read the thread on buying through CL - sorry Brandon, I've ordered from TireRack before and just ordered online without thinking. The next order will go through CL.

Default No worries

No worries, I think most people just don't understand because I haven't until now explained how it works. If anything it's my fault for not getting the word out sooner.
