Default I envy all you mild weather people.....

.....'cuz you don't gotta deal with this white crap. (I hope that isn't too obscene)...anyways, just venting a bit. I had to buy a set of snow tires for my GS430 today. My stock 17" Bridgestones were worn pretty badly, especially on the inside edge...so I was getting almost nil traction, and I was only moving forward in snow by building up momentum.....eeek

I had enough of it this morning....when I almost slid into a parked car getting out of a parking spot...so I ended up seeing if I could find a set of 225/45/17 Blizzak WS50's....grrr, no where had them in stock and would take a week to get...and they were quoting me upwards of $900!!! WTH?!?!

Anyways, found an NTB that couldn't get them for me....but miraculously had a set of higher list priced Blizzak LM22's in stock!!! And he gave them to me for $800 mounted, balanced, with road hazard...which I thought was pretty decent....

well, initial impressions so far....they are super great...awesome traction abilities, steering feels a bit less firm than OEM Bridgestones, probably softer sidewall. And I'm kinda glad that I got the LM22's over the WS50's, since its got a higher speed reading....H vs. Q rating.

I'll post more impressions as I have to brave the winter weather out here in Ohio when I have to go into Cleveland for my evening classes.....

I hear you on this Cleveland winter! A couple weeks ago, I was following my friend's PT Cruiser through some side streets out in the southeast suburbs (where lake effect snow is the worst), when I hit a patch of black ice and came inches from taking out some mailboxes (yet he took the turn at twice my speed and didn't slip one inch). The Blizzaks should make a huge difference, I had Pilot Alpins on my old 3 series for the winter, and handled great in snow and slush.

That is what's happenning to me. It is so sad to see my car parked in the garage and not be able to drive it. My car has to be a "garage queen" 4 - 5 months of the year.

I will take pics of my wife's car with one week of salt and mud on it and you will understand why I would rather not drive my baby (GS400) in this weather.

Ditto Hameed, my daily driver is black, and after driving all day yesterday it was 2tone!! Black on top and white on bottom!!! LOL

My GS just sits in the driveway during these months, and it kills me not to modding/cleaning/driving it.

I was just telling someone the other day, it must be a crazy feeling to put wheels on your car, and never taking them off!!!
