Personally, I'd take a healthy Bynum over a healthy Howard because of the offensive upside of Bynum, but that's like asking for a healthy Oden
definitely not putting him in the sentence of all time greats...but he can be a superstar, which Bynum never was to me, he was a star just not a superstar. Bynum was good and had a very good offensive game but even tho Dwight didn't stack up offensively, he found a way to put up about 25pts a night along with being the best defensive person on the floor every game when healthy.

if Hakeem and McHale can somehow bring that form back with him...by far he's the better center between the two and the best big in the game. plus he's working with the best offensive big we've seen in Hakeem, surely his offensive game will pick-up. almost everyone who's worked with Hakeem has gotten better offensively.

time will tell though...

lots of uproar from NBA GM's and owners over AK47 taking less money to sign with the Russian-led Nets...plenty indicating money under the table in Russia but that'll be hard to prove, even if it were true.

i can't really see it tho...it's as if teams were chasing AK47 to sign him, only the Spurs and that deal fell through becuase the TWolves refused to make the Spurs any better. Funny how the SPurs were only giving him 2mil or so, yet the GM's and owners are complaining how this contract with the Nets is somehow unfair

Yeah with Howard you'd get a very basic offensive game, but he's a definite game changer on the defensive end. With Bynum, you get a more complete offensive game, but a downright lazy game on D. Neither one stacks up to Shaq though You know he'd get his 25-30 PPG (foul shots be damned) and 10+ rebounds whereas you'll get a lot more 20/20 games from Dwight but you'll also get a lot more games with 12-20 PPG

Rumors leaking from the league...

Heat v Bulls season opener, also Lakers v Heat on Xmas
Lakers v Clippers on 10/29/13

I would of preferred a Lakers v Houston xmas day matchup...will Kobe even be playing by then?

expect schedules to be released/leaked soon

Knowing Kobe's stubbornness, he'll probably be playing. If he'll be any good is a completely different question.

I was hoping GSW would get JJ Hickson as opposed to Marresse Speights & Jermaine O'neal.

Iggy was a surprise pickup, considering Barnes stepping up his game in the playoffs. Guess he can be the 6th man now that Jack, Rush and Landry are gone.

We need another big man. Bogut's gimpiness is why he doesn't have a contract extension.

Any update on Greg Oden?

ESPN is saying that the Heat, Pelicans (lol), Kings, and Spurs are favorites, but I think its mainly the Heat or Spurs.

Why in the world would Oden play for the Pelicans or Kings?

Air Forcer goes for the windmill...in full uniform, boots too. this was at the USA men's white vs blue game

If Oden wants to prove himself, he's gonna choose a team that he'll get a lot of playing with (Kings/Pelicans). If he wants a shot at a ring and true value to a competing squad, he'll end up with Heat/Spurs. Don't think he'll choose the Spurs tho, he'd be sharing minutes with Duncan and Splitter whereas in Miami he can be a front runner.

I doubt he wants to get a lot of playing time, especially coming off another knee surgery

I honestly think the Heat are the best choice (Im also biased, but it seems reasonable to me). He would only need to contribute what, 10-20 minutes per game off the bench? If he needs to take a game off here and there, he can do that since the Heat normally play smaller line ups. Plus he gets a good shot at a ring.

Seems like a no brainer to me

If I were him I'd sign with the Suns just to get access to the miracle workers they have on their training staff

Amen to that. Look at what they did for Grant Hill, Steve Nash and Jermaine Oneil.

Greg Oden to the Heat!

If he is even half the player he used to be, this move will pay off big for Miami

yea...but the possibility of that is very minimal to me. He's had serious injuries that keep reoccurring so it's hard to be fully optimistic. Never the less, it's such a minimal risk plus Miami still has the MLE to make use of on someone else.

Yeah I agree, but I doubt that they would rush Oden on the court. I dont expect to see him until maybe 20 games or so into the season? And even then, only playing maybe 5 minutes a game, just to get his rhythm going. The most I expect to see him play is 15-20 good minutes off the bench in the playoffs when needed.

Would Miami start Andersen at C? I like his energy off the bench so idk how he would be as a starter. And do you think Miami would use the MLE on another player? If so who?

I disagree about Oden. If he's chasing a ring this year, then ok maybe the Heat is the better choice (time will tell). But to me, the Spurs are not only a model franchise, they have a better coach and not to mention one of the greatest big men to play the game to mentor him and work on his fundamentals.

Bosh isn't exactly what I would consider a mentor for Oden. Their games aren't similar IMO.
