She has a nice collection going, tell her to log in and give some feedback on the Caribbean and the rest of them!

The portwood really is amazing!

The one Dave spoke of that I mentioned is the Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 6 which again, is awesome.

My current favorites:

Highland Park 18, finished in Sherry Casks
Kirkland (Costco, made by Macallan) 15, finished in Sherry Casks
Oban 14 and 18
Dalmore 12 and 15
Glenlivet 16 Nadurra
Johnny Walker Blue (ok it's a blend, but it's crazy good)

Macallan 12 & 18 are always great drinkers!

Aberlour 12 and Balvenie Doublewood are good too.

I also dig peaty Scotchs, so I really like Oban and Lagavulin.

Tried Talisker Distiller's Edition (12) recently, good stuff.

I didn't like Johnnie Walker Blue. Tried them twice, both times felt that they didn't deserve the hype.

I'm starting to really enjoy Japanese "Scotch" whiskeys too. Yamazaki (12 & 18) is killer smooth and I'd say their flavor is very similar to Macallan. Hibiki is a little stronger, reminiscent of Talisker a little bit.

Had the pleasure of trying Taketsuru (12 blend), it was pretty dangerous. I could probably drink the thing all night.

Not too familiar with Bourbon and Rye but I've had nothing but good experiences with Bulleit. Also enjoy some moonshine on the side since boutique distilleries are picking up on good, clean shine.

With Macallan, I perfer the sherry oak over the fine oak.

I think 18 is the perfect year.

Just never developed a taste for it - too medicinal. Don't care for beer either.

My drink of choice is wine or more simple mixed drink (Coke Zero and Mount Gay rum)

All the Japanese whiskeys I've tried--I'd consider safe choices. You can't really go wrong with them.

Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu all belong to the Suntory Holdings family--which also includes Bowmore and Auchentoshan distilleries in the family.

Quality scotches all around.

My favorite is Highland Park. The Highland Park 15 yr is my regular scotch (as mentioned above it should be neat). Highland Park is not a highlands scotch, but is the northern most distillery in Scotland, on Orkney.

I also like highland scotches Dalwhinnie and Macallan.

As for other whiskey, living about 60 miles from Lynchburg, I have to go with Jack Daniels (a Tennessee Sour Mash whiskey). As for bourbon, I like Ridgemont Reserve 1792.
