Next lesson in techniques generally worthless for street driving:

Heel and toe (downshifting)
Handbrake turns (aka bootleg turns)
Trail braking

but you'll have to have passing grade first from:

the 1st to 5th missed shift AND
the 5th to 2nd (big oops) missed shift

seriously, double clutching is fun, just like any perfectly performed downshift, but the primary purpose was to either a) make shifting possible (cause otherwise, it damm near wasn't) in those old non-snychro boxes or b) go easy on the synchros in newer boxes.

Just more old fart wisdom aka info from ancients, see it on your own personal copy of Dead Sea scrolls.
