Yeah, I've seen that. I don't like the feel of the keyboard (too small, the G1 has a 5 row keyboard) and the specs aren't up to par with the competition. But my contract isn't up until 2 more months, so I have time to wait for something new to come out. I've heard rumors of a Sidekick Twist for T-Mo, but this time made by HTC running Android with a Snapdragon and touchscreen.

The Galaxy S Pro/Epic 4G would be perfect for me if it was on T-Mobile. Great specs and a nice touchscreen with a big 5 row keyboard.

There's literally one for EVERY carrier:

http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/29/s...mily-portrait/

Sprint: Epic 4G
AT&T: Captivate
T-Mobile: Vibrant
Verizon: Fascinate

There's even an as-yet-unnamed US Cellular version. The Vibrant drops on July 21. No hardware keyboard, but with a screen that big, it really doesn't matter.

That's the regular Galaxy S. The version of the Galaxy S for Sprint is the the Galaxy S Pro/Epic 4G; it's the one with the keyboard that is exclusive the Sprint.

The Galaxy S/Vibrant for T-Mobile has just a touchscreen, no keyboard.

I know, that's why I said "No hardware keyboard, but with a screen that big, it really doesn't matter."

Ah, missed that part.

I know people say soft keyboards are great and just as quick as a hardware keyboard, but I still like the touch and feel of the keys better than tapping on the screen.

You really do get used to it. I used to be a bigtime hard keyboard bigot, but gradually got better with virtual keyboards, to the point that I'm faster on a good vKeyboard than on any pKeyboard with the exception of the original BB Bold (9000), which has IMO the best physical keyboard of any phone ever. Then I'm equally fast.

It only gets dicey when the screen size is not large enough. For example, the iPhone is just big enough, and things like the Evo are awesome. But the Moto Droid, despite having a slightly larger diagonal screen than the iPhone, is actually substantially narrower, and hence the keyboard is too cramped to use quickly. But on a huge screen like the Galaxy S, there won't be any issues whatsoever.

Tried the Galaxy S today, Couldn't access on the net though (most important to me). I like the quality of the screen, and it's amazingly light! But still, not for me.

You're making it sound like a Phone. Gingerbread is the code name for Android OS version 3.0.

I don't think it's an iPhone ripoff because it has 20 icons in one screen. And all touchscreens look the same.

I didn't mean like an iPhone clone in the way a Chinese direct copycat would be done. The Chinese would actually put the Apple logo on it.

And no, not all touchscreens look the same. Yes, they are all rectangular surfaces covered with a screen, but they're are still very distinct. Nobody's confusing Moto Droids with iPhones.

Look at them side by side....

i wanna see how the pictures/recorded videos look on a computer. pictures/videos can look good on a phone but look terrible on a computer.

iphone is sleeker, but the galaxy s seems to take/show better pictures, videos. faster web browsing, better navigation. swype is pretty useful.

for looks i'd get iphone, for more useful i'd give it to galaxy s.
