2006 GS300 Used shock / struts

What can I do with my old oem shocks / struts. Three out of the four are blown. Can they be recycled to be used again or are they just worth their weight in metal?

I'm sure they can be rebuilt. What caused them all to blow?

They have 125,000 miles on them. It was time to replace them on my car.
