Default Tanabe Strut Top Brace on Ride Control

Did a little R&D and made a dust cover for my Tanabe STB:

Here it is installed. Sorry, I need to clean my engine bay.

Covers are made using ABS plastic on a 3D printer.

Total installation time was about 15 minutes without reading the directions.

I'll buy a set if you're selling them.

Let me get back to you guys on these. I have a couple of driver side ones on my desk, so I have to get machine time to run couple of passenger side ones for the matching pairs.

I didn't think the STB would make a huge difference in the rigidity of the car, but it did. It was very apparent to me when I drove up a driveway at an angle. I used to be able to feel the car flex a little. Now it seems more rigid.

As for handling on the road, it seems to help a bit but it's hard to quantify by how much with all the other suspension pieces I already have. All together though, it handles way better than the bone stock loaner I recently had while my car was in for minor service and oil change.

Tanabe should include something like that or sell them.

Sorry for the bad news for those that have been asking ... I did some research on how much it would cost to print the covers and learned that the pair would cost more than the STB itself.

The only way these can be made cost effectively is for a mold to be made for production quantities. Maybe those intrested can check with Tanabe to see if they are willing to make them?
