Default Coilovers???

I want to drop my car BUT I do not want to really sacrifice ride quality. I know when you do lower the car some ride quality is given up. I was hoping not to much. What are the best coilovers available?

Thanks

I was talking about the HA part. You have not had that for awhile now unless you changed something again.

Default tein ss

Hey, i know i'm digging up an old thread, but i would like to lower my car, and was thinking about getting coilovers. Tein SS is what i had in mind because they are good quality and only $900. What do yall think? My friend says just to get Eibachs cause it is cheaper to do that and the minimal drop wouldn't damage the stock shocks. I'd like to do my car stuff right the first time which is why i was thinking coilovers.

So:
1. Are the Tein SS good compared to the Flex? (SS catch my eye cause they are cheaper)
2. Are coilovers even worth it?
3. What is the dif in performance (handling) and ride?
4. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

i might be wrong, but is the tein ss only height adjustable? personally i like the stiffness adjustability so that i can find the ride i want at the height of my choice that's why i have HA on the is3 and cs on the gs4

I've heard that some of the best coilovers available for the IS300 are:
* Zeal Function B6
* JIC FLT-A2

The Zeal's are supposed to be absolutely amazing, but are very expensive. A very good alternative would be the JICs, which are height adjustable and 15-way dampening adjustable. On the softer settings, the ride quality will be about the same as stock. They're also a bit cheaper than the Zeals, I think around $1600-1800.

The Teins are also good, again from what I heard. However, some people think that they don't quite offer the handling performance of the JICs, let alone the Zeals.

Hope that helps.

yes, zeal and jic are definitely more performance oriented, that's why the premium price. price of zeal is just outrages, where jic is cheaper but still high price. by comparison the tein flex (which has almost same as stock ride) is a lot cheaper at 1400 max. either case, for the 3, you get what you pay for imho

TEIN SS is harsher and harder than the FLEX's. Flex's are alot more smoother and the spring rates are lower.

JIC FLT-A2's are par with the Zeal B6/S6.

FLT-A2(racing model) is on par with the Zeal's Racing edition of the S6. forgot the model. I'd get JIC FLT-A1us. have you looked at those yet? they are about 1000.
