What kind of shocks are on 2017 IS300?
I have a second gen IS250 AWD and brought it in to the dealer for the passenger side air bag recall.
They gave me a 2017 IS300 AWD loaner. I was impressed with the suspension. It had a firm ride, but I hardly felt any up and down movements. Even my newer 2017 Volvo S90 cannot keep the car from moving up and down like that. So what kind of shocks does the 2017 have (from my research, they appear to be normal shocks)? I know the IS250/350 have some kind of active damping system.
After driving the loaner, I hate my IS now cuz I feel every imperfection on the road, along with the ups and downs, and the tires are loud. Sometimes at 80km/hr, I can feel a slight oscillating vibration. My car is stock with 146,000km. I have new stock size 18" Yoko Avid Envigors bought last September. I also had a 4 wheel alignment done at that time too.
I also seem to have a slight scraping sound at the front passenger wheel when turning left (can only hear it with the window down and in a parking garage where the noise can bounce off the walls). It doesn't seem to be a dust shield touching. The noise was worse last year (can hear it on the street with the window down) until I replaced all rotors and brakes.

Perhaps you had an fsport loaner? You can update your suspension to make it perform better. Components wear out over time.
