Default 2016 is200t f sport brake service

well my brakes started squeaking and the dealer ship gave me a quote of 512 for the job.
does this include the back rotors to?
I know they need to be done and I have about 2mm left. what are my options??
500 bucks sounds crazy to me.

Buy a set of akebono ASP for the front and they will last twice as long with about the same performance. Get an independent to do the brakes as it's pretty easy. Get the rotors turned or just buy a pair. I use stock rotors and Akebono ASPs and it performs flawlessly with no brake dust

I absolutely agree with this haha. Although, I'm about to look into a different brake combo because both the stock F Sport setup and the Akebono ASP setup is not good enough to me. MY G37S has some beast *** braking power (I had the ASPs on the front and back on this car) and I'm trying to figure out why the IS F Sport doesn't.

It could be that your G37S also had bigger wheels with better tires. That probably makes more difference than the brake pads. If you upgrade to a summer tire like PS4, you'd probably get better braking in your IS.

Negative, I had the same pads (Akebono ASP’s) and the same tires (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+’s) on my G37S. Only difference was the rears had 2 pot calipers, but that shouldn’t make that much of a difference. The G37S is a bigger car too so that’s why I’m a little annoyed with the stopping power.

If you really want the dealer to do it, you can usually bring your own parts. Go to LexusPartsNow.com and you'll probably save a bunch.

You can also do them yourself, but you'll either need to bring them the rotors to resurface, or just buy new oe rotors from LexusPartsNow.

Today, the dealer quoted me $370 to change out the front brake pads, is that reasonable? Also, dealer going to change the front two absorbers due to fluid leakage, but that is covered under warranty. Is that wear and tear for a 2.5 years car normal? 2016 IS200t here.

The brake service sounds normal. The f sport brakes only last 15-20k. Mine lasted 10k with some aggressive driving. I changed to Akebono ASPs and the brake performance is similar with double the life.

Does $370 include new rotors or resurfacing?

Not sure about the 200t calipers but the larger ones are so easy, if you can remove the wheels you can change the pads. Pull out a cotter pin then out come the retaining pin and bracket and you can remove and replace the pads. Good DIY here.

Also Centric Rotors are relatively cheap on rockauto.com i use them with most cars i have owned as they are close (if not the same) as oem rotors. Then maybe pair them up with Akebono or oem pads.
