Talking how low is low?

just wondering if any one out there has a slammed gs on coilovers? any problems? how low is slammed? im thinking gotta have the wheels tucked under the fender at least 1 inch on 18s? is that too much? what sort of problems to you run inot besides some fender rub? i heard that the traingle bar that runs over the front wheels on the suspension is known to hit the top of the wheel well? and the sound is horrible? any thoughts? any pics of anyone who considers htere gs not just lowered but slammed? any thoughts??? pros and cons? besides the obvious? thanx to all!

I think if you are trying to tuck your 18s 1 inch into the fenders, you would be so close to the ground that you will render the car undrivable. I had 20s on my 5-series and the wheels were tucked, but my car is still pretty far off the ground because of the big wheels. It just has the illusion of being slammed. Look at the pic. Is this what you are looking for?

I agree, especially if a body kit is planned. Even with about a one finger gap, my L-Tuned sideskirts at the lowest point is about 3" off the ground. I've had to be much more careful going around town. If you really want to tuck the wheels, 20s would be better.

Default im not really talking fender tuck

what the point was after a certain point the suspenion seems to bottom out i heard? you can see in the wheel well where it hits. you can have 18s tucked and not be on the ground. no body kit. ok maybe not a full inch. but the point was with any coilover setup, it sems theres a point where its just to low, not because it scrapes the ground, but because the suspension up front will bottom out? any one heard this. thanx for the repies!

I think a car will start to bottom out not because of the coilover "limits". It bottoms out because the setting is set so low that the control arms of the axles are being bent far beyond the factory is meant for it to bend. What you get is when you go up or down a steep ramp, you heard a loud, painful "thunk". Or you get strange bouncy movements on the highway at higher speeds or uneven roads. Either way, unless you are trying to impress show-goers or judges at the show, you should never leave your coilovers at its "lowest setting" because once again: you will not be able to drive your car.
