Default rear subframe torque specs

Hey everyone,

i am looking through the FSM and cannot find any info on the rear subframe, specifically the 19mm front bolts and the 4x 12mm rear bolts that bolt onto the body of the car. What are the torque specs for those? Has anyone found it in the FSM ? I just spent 20 minutes searching it.

cheers,
Marko

IIRC the MK4 FSM states 136ft/lbs for the 19mm bolts going to the frame/unibody. As for the other, I cant say for sure but I think its 133ft/lbs.

Can anyone confirm?

Check Supraforums.com, the one I had was from there. Im just going off memory cause the computer I had it saved on is long gone. There is a certain one that had all the specs, but a quick search there and you should find it no problem.

there you go, the second link has it. I found this section in the SC400 manual now, the SC400 rear subframe calls out 28 ft lbs for the rear bolts (8) and the front ones call for 130 ft lbs (2)

this is on page MA-17.. very random.

the only thing i don't have now is the rear subframe mount, the big bolt that bolts the rear subframe mount to the subframe itself (big bolt.. probably 150-200 ft lb range)

Thanks!

The specs are hidden in the Maintenance section at the beginning of the Lexus aervice manual for SC300 & SC400s.

MY 1997 manual calls for rear subframe specs:

Subframe bolts to chassis (2 bolts) : 176 Nm 130ft-lbs
Subframe bracket to chassis (8 bolts) : 58 Nm 42 ft-lbs
Subframe bracket to subframe (2 nuts) : 76 ft-lbs
