I've done this conversion successfully, one of the best modification of my car, I can say. Check my build.

DIY will not be useful unless You are a mechanic and have all the necessary equipment including a car lift. And if You are, I doubt You will need a DIY )

why would you need a lift to change brakes...

What I meant was like the parts list needed to swap everything over.

this is not true. a set of basic tools + jack stands can do a lot of what can be done on the IS. a brake conversion can be done with basic hand tools.

I just did the front Is350 conversion on my new to me 2014 Is250 f sport Awd out of necessity/frustration. At under 18,000 miles the front and rear rotors/pads were already rusted and worn and the calipers were rusty and just unappealing. I decided to replace the brakes at all four corners and upgrade the fronts to Is350 calipers/rotors.

The conversion/upgrade was completed with basic hand tools in a few hours and all for under $500.

Parts needed:
Left caliper 19-3337
Right caliper 19-3336
You can go with any style/brand rotors you want as long as they fit the same year Is350 and fit the awd if you are awd.
I went with basic plain stock replacement rotors.
Awd Centric Front Left Brake Rotor 121.44184
Awd Centric Front Right Brake Rotor 121.44185
Your options for brake pads is also broad they just must be for the Is350.
I went with the basic ceramic replacement.
Centric posi-quiet ceramic brake pads with shims 105.1118
Everything is plug and play but you will have to trim and finesse the dust shield to mount the calipers and rotors.

I just completed the upgrade to the IS350 front brake system on my2014 IS250. Required slight trimming of the front dust shield to fit the caliper and minor bending back of the dust shield to avoid contact with the rotor.

Purchase Remanufactured Calipers (A1 Cardone) from Rock Auto
Rotors & Pads: EBC Greenstuff
Stop tech Stainless Steel Lines

What did you use to trim and bend the dust shield?

Had my mechanic do the install, but from what I saw, a long Flathead screw driver to slightly tilt it back, not too much is required. With regards to trimming, gardening shears cut through the dust shield easily.

Would you need a spacer after for the OEM rims or when I buy after market rims ?

No spacers needed for OEM wheels. You should not need spacers for most aftermarket wheels so long as they will fit an Is350.
