Which of these Shocks to choose?

wasn't sure if i should post this here or in Performance section but i figured more people would see this and maybe benefit from it here.

time for new shocks in my car and i found 3 decently priced alternatives on ebay. im lowered on eibach pro kit and heard some shocks are better for lowered cars? like for example oem f sport s designed for 1 inch lower cars than non f sport shocks... idk about this area. does this mean the "kyb gas-a-just" could be adjusted for my lowered car to work with the spring better? i have having to type "a-just" why couldnt they just call them adjust lol...
I know when Spring rates chang (ie putting on lowering sprins) your shock dampening rates should change too but thats literally all i know, nothing about how drastic of a change and to what. also dont see any dampening rates in the ads just "buy our shocks for smoothest ride for your car"

Stagg SHS : http://m.ebay.com/itm/STAGG-4-STRUTS-SHOCKS-fits-2WD-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-IS-F-2006-06-07-08-09-to-2013-/121685508372?nav=SEARCHOn Bimmerforums people said it was a good deal and held up well, on honda forums has kinda mixed reviews, one post on cl said it blew out in the first day

KYB Gas-A-Just : http://m.ebay.com/itm/KYB-Gas-A-Just-Shocks-Struts-Front-Rear-06-12-Lexus-IS250-IS350-IS-F-RWD-ALL-/261836902000?nav=SEARCH
KYB Shocks (not gas-a-just?) : http://m.ebay.com/itm/KYB-4-STRUTS-SHOCKS-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-AWD-2006-to-2013-551126-551127-551132-/310840491091?nav=SEARCH

if the Stagg is a no go maybe I'd rather just save up a couple hundred extra and get F-sport shocks over the KYB. idk if its really worth it though not sure if "upgraded" shocks make that big of a difference. first time changing shocks on a car for me.

Anyone own any of these or Aftermarket shocks? share experiences please

Thanks

I personally would not get Stagg , KYB is more reputable. The first one is RWD and other is AWD. all gas type. If you got money saved up for the F-Sport which is made by Bilstein. Highly suggest that. or go back to stock Tokico brand. all lowering springs isn't that low to be worried about with the dampening and etc. The only lowest springs i know is Roadmagnets which is 2inch even and it was rated fine on stock shocks.

right, i just noticed the drivetrain difference. probably going to get the tokicos and use the extra money compared to f sport elsewhere. thanks for the input

Just my two cents, but I've always had good experience with the koni yellows and lowering springs. Was going to go that route on my IS, but gonna go with coilovers instead.

I was researching koni yellows for a while and they seem to be good, but I decided to go with coilovers.

Yea in my case the price of the konis + the spring setup I wanted just makes better sense to go with coilovers. I will say though, the konis paired with some H&R springs the ride was amazing

im broke guys thats why i was looking at "decently priced" shocks lol. yea at the price of the yellows i think coilovers would be a smarter option as well

In that case yea, would go with the F Sports or the KYB

If you're broke, but NEED shocks, they just get whatever you can to get by.

LexHes 05-03-16 05:04 PM

...seems like we are all broke.. but we love our cars :)

I bought the KYB gas-a-just cause I got a killer deal on them. Installing them in 2 weeks.

Let you know how they ride if you hadn't done yours by then.

I hear only good things about KYB's. Best bang for you buck.

Parsa 05-03-16 09:07 PM

cool, thanks! if ur shocks are as bad as mine im sure the difference in ride feel will be night and day lol

Khandfw 05-06-16 12:50 PM

Thanks for the thread, I need new shocks too... will go w/ KYB any recommendations where I can buy the springs?

The KYB is the best choice in your case.
