Feedback on Akebono ACT 1178?
#16
That wasn't my experience - I put the Akebono ACT1118 front pads on my 2015 IS350 F-Sport and they were the exact same size as the stock pads. They are quiet as a mouse, and clean as a whistle - no more brake dust.

I just had the ACT 1178 pads installed on my 2015 IS350 F-Sport at my local independent shop as I don't trust my limited mechanical skills to handle the job. When I got home, I thoroughly cleaned the wheels and am looking forward to seeing just how much less brake dust is actually produced.

Just put on the 1118's, it feels a bit weird not having to manage the initial bite that the stock pads have, these pads are very linear. The stock pads will bite hard at first then I let off the brake to come to a smooth stop and with the 1118 I keep pressing harder before letting off to make a smooth stop.
If that makes any sense. It is not a bad thing but a difference between the 2 pads. Stockers you have to manage and have a light foot but with the 1118 you have to press progressively harder.
