The replacement part number is 04465-30450 for these pads.

With regards to the grease for the shims, the shims used on the front of the IS350 are not intended to be used with any sort of grease. Unless the rubberized coating is worn off, I don't think you should need any, but there was a TSB from Lexus at one point to replace the shims with newer type to reduce the possibility of brake noise (04945-30330).

Ok then I am confused.. I read the 16 pages of messages about the DIY Front Brake Pad Change on the forums and they said the part number I mentioned is the "low dust" brake pad option and the DIY instructions state to use anti squeal grease. So is that DIY no accurate or am I missing something?

Ok i read a few other places and it appears that the 30330 is the factory part number and has been replaced with the 30450 version. So then I would think I need some sort of anti squeak grease if I am also getting those new shims with the 30450 pads. Correct?

Other than going to the dealership, anyone suggest legit websites to get the pads and shims from?

Front Pads is350 - 04465-30450

Shims for above pads - 04945-30330

Links would be great. Thanks everyone!

Is this a legit site for these parts?

http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/l...465-30450.html

http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/l...=Base&Filter=()

For some reason when I enter 2010 IS350, says the shims will not fit the car. Interesting..

Use 04465-30450 and 04945-30330, they're not the original parts for your 2010 IS so they won't come up, but they are the best option for the low-dust pads.

Don't use grease.

Lexuspartsnow is a legit website.

Sounds good.. Thanks Jeff.... I dont mean to be a pain but I hate when doing a project to realize I have the wrong parts in my hands.

Do you happen to know if those links above are legit genuine Lexus Parts?

It's all good, it's a bit confusing because they used to use the same shims for the low dust and high dust pads, but then developed different shims for each type on 2011+ cars. The original shims used for both change up to the newer high-dust pad shim, but if you're using the low-dust pads (04465-30450), the correct shims would actually be 04945-30330.

Yes, those are legit genuine Lexus parts.

Sorry to ask one more question Jeff, but you have been very helpful. So is there any disadvantage going with the lower dust pad option? Do both pads carry the same amount of stopping performance and longevity or is there a reason I may want to stick with the higher dust pads?

The higher dust pads have a higher friction coefficient and can handle higher heat. That said, it is mainly a pedal feel difference between the two, stopping distance will be the same either way. Repeatability may be a bit lower on the low-dust pads, but I don't know of any test results showing the exact differences.

04465-30450 are made by NBK (Pad Material: D6893H)
04465-30510 are made by Advics (Pad Material: PV565H)

Neither are the high-friction pads which are 04465-30500 (made by Textar, Pad Material: T4146).
