Brake Master Cylinder Chronicles for My 99 GS400
Hallo.
After getting a deal on a 2002 SC430 BMC, I spent the weekend installing this bad boy only to have no luck. The process was very straight forward as it doesn't involve much effort (I always compare to ac repairs on gs400s). I removed with old, installed with new(used) and bled the brakes.
Drove around and what i believe is the actuator, continued to make the pumping noise. HOWEVER, the noise was less extrusive, sustained in smaller intervals and only made that noise after ie. driving and coming to a complete stop at a red light; Its as though the BMC recently broke and i ended up purchasing it... (paypal return that sht)
I thought that after driving for a bit, the noise would dissipate but it didn't. I've read that the sensor on the old bmc unit must be applied to the 2001+ unit. So I took my impact wrench with a 30mm deep socket, removed the existing sensor on the new unit and applied the old sensor with a torque wrench @ 60ft/lb only to realize the ANNOYing sounds from the old unit is now very much apparent on my newly installed one..
I compared the sensors(Oil Pressure Sensor) on both units to discover they were the exact same model... I feel like I was swindled... Like he knew it wasn't a 2001+ model...
Was I scammed? Did I miss a step in the installation process?
For now I've started the return process and back to searching junk yards.

I've noticed the difference between the old and new sensors if you're searching for a reliable BMC. The old sensor has three horizontal prongs where as the newer models possess three prongs in a triangular shape... if anyone was interested.
