Talking Tein HA revisited

i know this topic has been discused in the past, but i thinkj its worth mentioning. i heard the tein ha set up is too stiff? then i heard its the most common set up if you want a considerable drop. my question is does anyone know what the tein ha set up retails? anywhere to buy it? and finnally, i heard mix reviews about installing them yourself. they come with instructions right? i was told it could be done yourself, and i was also told the front or the rear need special tools to compress the coilover so it will fit. i would really like to do this myself, any suggestions???

No, you would use your stock upper mount.

last time I checked you can get it new and installed for under $1000.
you're in the bay area, right? try exact motorsports. www.exactmotorsports.com
I believe you can also order them from Steve at Carson Toyota.

in terms of stiffness, I can say that setting them at the softest is softer than the HR/Bilstein combo.

installation...first I believe the instructions are in japanese. If you can read it or get a hold of the english version, I think the special tool you need is a spring compressor to remove the springs you currently have on. I believe you can rent one of these at a local Kragen Auto Parts store. I was thinking of installing mine myself also, but exact was doing installs for $180 so it was pretty easy for me to decide and have them do it.

Hope that helps you out. Good luck.

i got mine and installed in LA (san gabriel area). 1000 for HA and 100 for install, and there is one free adjustment afterwards. cash no tax so you save even more. call harry at impex motorsport (626) 825-6630, and tell him henry with the blue gs refers you. he will get you the price you love. still can't find one to beat his price

tein ha at 0/0 to me is about the same as the stiffness settings on flex. i have 7/5 on my ha and it's ok, not horrible. but yes, stiff. i want more road feel and more performance feeling so it's good for me. if you are not used to stiff ride you might think it's ha, it depends.

flex is a lot softer and closer to stock ride. the price is about right, flex is a bit more expensive.

i forgot, either 1 or 3, probably 1. tein doesn't have lifetime warranty on their parts, but you can always rebuilt it or replace certain parts
