I replaced my entire front and rear shock with F-sport suspension and am pleased with how the car handles. However when I did the front shocks I noticed that the dust boots were torn. I have removed/replaced the front shocks 4 times now trying various combos of zip tying on aftermarket dust boots, but unfortunately none have worked long-term...as soon as you lift the car most pull right off the upper or lower area of the shock where they were fastened.

If you aren't familiar with the Lexus front dust boot it cannot be ordered separately from the front shock upper mount assemblies. What this means is it will cost me $225-250 just to get 2 new dust boots. So is it worth it or not? Do I just run the F-sport shocks alone till they go bad(I live in a dusty area), or pony up and drop the coin just for essentially some rubber covers that actually work. I have racked my brain for the last 2 months and just cant decide...plz help.

To extend the possible life out of the components, of course it is recommended to use the dust boot. Any contaminants getting into the shock itself reduce the useful life.

Thanks Gville350, guess I kinda knew this already just needed to hear someone else say it. I ponied up and bought and installed the new Lexus parts today.
