Default Clunking noise with my Tein Flex???

I have a clunking noise coming from the drivers front wheel area that I cant figure out. It started immediately after I put my Tein Flex on the car, it sound as though the top strut mount bolts are loose and the entire assembly is moving over bumps making the noise, but theyre not. Everything seems to be tightened with the install. Any ideas in what to check?

i think it's worth it to take off the wheel and check all the bulbs / joints to see if they are loose? maybe also check the bolts in the engine bay (the strut tower)?

rominl, I was pretty tired when I read that and it confused the hell out of me! I was like Bulbs? What are bulbs? Am I missing something? Is it something the Flex have that I never heard of?

After a good night sleep it was pretty obvious what you meant to say. Its amazing what sleep can do for you.

I had that same problem with my L-Tuned setup a few months ago. The problem ended up being a defective shock...luckily it was still under warranty.

How do you diagnose wether or not a shock or strut is bad, other than the obvious, leaking, bounciness, etc.?

I personally think the dealership guessed at the problem and got lucky. There were no visible signs of a problem.

I solved the problem. Rominl was right, the spring wasnt seated properly. It didnt look like it was seated wrong, but we moved the spring around a little bit and the noise is gone.

My car just started doing this last night. The major difference between what you experienced TTurboPimp and what I am experiencing is that I've had my coilovers on for almost two months now. I am getting the clunking sound from the front passenger side.

It is there all the time just like you were experiencing TTurboPimp - the smallest bump and it clunks. I guess I have to take it in to the shop to get it taken out and put back again?

bringing a thread back from the past. does anyone else have this problem? i'm getting it mostly from driver's rear. did reseating the spring solve the problem or did the clunk eventually come back? should the tein flex's have any preload on them?

I just noticed that clunking today after installing my flexes. Only the drivers side though. How could the spring be seated incorrectly, wouldn'd it seat itself under load???
