Default Putting on new brakes and ran into a snag...

I just got started on putting new rotors and pads on my GS400. Last night I started to take off the 14mm bolts that hold the caliper together on the rotor. Both bolts broke off when I used the breaker bar. Do these turn opposite or could it be that they were just so stuck on there that they failed under the pressure?

Needless to say they slid right out of the rubber sleeves after they broke. Guess I have to get a couple of new bolts. Any recommendations on where to get something like this? Sewell Lexus?

Yes, you can get new bolts from Sewell... good luck getting the broken bolts out though.

Thanks fellas. I don't feel quite so bad now
So these longer bolts that held the caliper together have the 14mm bolts threaded in them. Once the 14mm bolt broke the longer bolt did come out and I can see where the 14mm heads broke off. Can't I just get the longer bolts replaced which in turn won't have the 14mm bolts broken off inside?

Go to any parts store and get a front brake caliper bolt and pin set. They are relatively inexpensive.
Autozone part # H15053
Hope this helps

I bought both kits from autozone. Get the grease for brake components. U will have to lubricate inside of the boots. And all the parts it needs it. Good luck
