I installed my MOOG ball joints and tie rod ends today, they came with the crown nuts and cotter pins and stuff, and also the small screw for the grease. I hooked my grease gun up to them and pumped brand new grease into them. When I felt the boot of the joint it felt the same, is there any way to tell how much is enough grease in the joint? Same thing for the tie rod ends. The instructions that came in the box said all components need to be properly greased after instillation. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Pump until you start seeing grease show through the boot. there are in the boot

i thought you see the boot expand when adding the grease?

The boot seemed to stay the same while I was pumping, I guess Ill just keep pumping then!

So then this would be enough grease then right? I just pumped the grease in once they were installed and stopped once it started to come out of the joint.

I'm guessing so. another member said wait till is comes out of the boot. guess your joint is filled lol

Awesome! I am still getting squeaking from my front end though But none the less, got new ball joints! Which is a plus!

where exactly? sway bushings?

Im not sure, It has brand new SPC front upper control arms, MOOG ball joints, tie rods, and Megan coilovers. But I'm getting squeaking when I drive. When I hit imperfections in the road, bumps, and stuff. Even when I open the door and sit in the car, I hear it do a quick squeak. And i'm pretty light, i'm only about a buck 35 and it squeaks when I sit in the car, or even sit on the fender/hood. I'm assuming it has to be some bushings. But where to start? Sway bars? Rack and pinion?

Start greasing the bushings? I just got my Lexus aligned today after the tie rod and ball joint install. All my toe, caster and thrust angle are in spec. I had the tech double check the joints and bushings to make sure everything was good and greased, he said everything was good and smooth, he took it out for a test drive and he said it has to be some bushings.... Just don't know where to start ughh -______-

i know it can be frustrating to locate the squeak. I've had my fair share of noises and trial and error findings.

I'd second the castor arm bushing.

Yeah I read some posts about the caster arm bushings, looks easy, and I have a press. Ill check other, more easier bushings to replace first, it would be a plus since most of the bushings on my car are over 100k miles. So they will need attention regardless, same thing I do with vacuum lines, when there is a leak, I don't even bother trying to find them. Just replace em all. Lol

Spray some grease in the caster arm bushing see if it temporary goes away..
