Nice!....I am looking to do the LS400 brake upgrade myself on my 99 SC300. Did you get the same year of your car for the LS400 brake upgrade? I am not sure if it makes a difference or not. Also, are you looking to change to LS400 calipers as well? I'm still learning what all I need to get to do this upgrade.

Thanks,
Gee

Those are LS400 calipers in the pictures. I think you misunderstood, I refinished the used LS400 calipers since they looked pretty beat. And they don't have to match the year of your car. Mine are from a 1995 LS400. They are all the same from 95-00.

Also, definitely do more research on them. Although converting to LS400 calipers and rotors is a bolt-on affair, you have to make sure that you purchase a set of wheels that will fit over them. Our stock wheels will not clear the LS calipers without a spacer, and even then, it's a very tight fit. My recommendation is to just upgrade to larger wheels that will fit over them. That in itself will also warrant a good amount of research as many aftermarket wheels will not fit over them either.

Thanks for the information and will definitely help on what to do. I was going to buy my coilovers, tires/wheels and then get the LS400 brake upgrade to be safe.

Thanks! The braking feels pretty much stock around town. But high speed braking is like night and day, it just bites and never fades.

That's gonna be pretty, I think only one other member on here has done that so far. Our cars look great with the Vette wheels and brakes.

Simple, but a well thought out upgrade! Good job-like the color choice too!

I'm actually really torn about it. I definitely know I dont need them for the performance. My car is only at about 270whp, and I'm planning on doing a manual swap with a tune down the road (which I'm hoping will bring me closer to 300whp). Definitely still not a number where Vette breaks are practical. But I'm thinking about going that route because the cost is about equal to TT breaks and they do look amazing.
But because I dont have 500hp like some members on here, I'm thinking its a bit overkill. And it would make more sense to just go this route.. Hmm..
