The coils will physically bolt in place, however the GS weighs about 450lbs more than the IS. The coilovers for the GS will usually have stiffer springs to counter the added weight. You can use the IS coilovers, but the spring rate and dampening would probably be incorrect for the car.

I'm guessing that the ride quality will not be good at all from what Jeff said. If the springs are not hard enough, your GS will be floating and maybe even bottoming out.

Well, in all honesty it would probably be fine. Using that suspension on a GS is like having an IS with 2 big guys in the back seat lol.

If you've got them laying around, you might as well fit them and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out, you just switch back.

If it was a 400...I'd say don't do it, but since its a 300, wouldn't hurt to try.

According to Megan's website, the IS300 coilovers come with 10kg/8kg springs. It should be good for daily driving, but definitely not hardcore tracking. Then again, nothing Megan should be used for that purpose

actually the 300 and the 400 weights about the same.. since the 300 uses iron block. It's just as heavy

If you got them for really cheap, just order a set of stiffer springs from Megan lol. You'll still come out cheaper than buying a new set in the end. I don't think Megan goes through the trouble of calibrating each individual damper for specific cars. I think they just use the same exact shock absorber with the same settings for multiple cars. I know a lot of the overseas BBK are that way. They use the same caliper with same exact piston bore for every single car and also use the same caliper for front and back BBK.

For example, I used to have a Rotora BBK and the front calipers and rear calipers were all 4piston. Both the front and rear sets of brakes shared identical calipers and the exact same piston bores. Of course, this is not optimal since the rears will tend to lock up under heavy braking. I spun out my car 2 times at high speeds(60-80mph) when my ABS was disabled, and there were several other times when the rear end of the car would slide sideways but I kept it under control. Trust me, it's not a safe situation to be in especially if you're not prepared for the car to step out on you lol. With ABS enabled, the car is very squeamish and wobbly under hard braking at high speeds. The ABS system can prevent the tires from locking up and sending the car into a spin, however it still can't overcome the brakes being improperly balanced.

I have a new set of StopTech BBK all the way around the car. 4 piston on all 4 corners. The calipers are all ST-4 series stoptech calipers, however the rear calipers have smaller piston bores. This allows a much more balanced hard braking situation at high speeds. With ABS disabled, the car comes to a stop in a very smooth controlled manner. Even when I lock up the tires slightly, the car stays stable and goes straight without the rear wanting to step out. With ABS enabled, I can mash the brakes full force from 150mph and it will bring the car to a stop in just a few seconds without much affair.

Anyways, I think I was rambling again and somehow it went far off topic on brakes lol. But the point that I was trying to make is that with cheap overseas branded parts, there is often little or no R&D put into the products. They just make the parts physically fit the car, then they box it up and sell it. So it could very well be that the Megan suspension for the IS and GS are completely identical, or at least share the same shock and dampening settings. Just my 2cents

I really didn't even think about it before posting that.... Hence the reason why there are not 2 different part #'s for the GS400/300 springs
