LS400 Front and TT Rear - Parts List
I'm about to do the BBK upgrade for my SC and I am needing some help identifying parts. I recently purchased some used front LS400 calipers and used rear Supra TT calipers. However, I am missing some hardware parts. I only have the guide pins, caliper pistons and seals (around pistons).
So, what other hardware parts (besides pads) come with the front LS400 and rear Supra TT calipers? I'm looking to purchase these items to complete my setup.
I have seen these parts on varies sites/forums...(part # will be helpful too)
1. Anti-Rattle springs
2. Disc brake hardware kit
3. Guide Pins
4. Pistons
5. Bolts
6. Pad spacers (not sure if I need this for front, rear or both)
7. Shim Kit (not sure if I need this for front, rear or both)
Thanks for your help

I just did mine recently but the car has 19s now...
Have not heard anyone doing this with less than 18s.... There maybe a few 17s if the wheels are designed with adequate clearance. No 16s that I have read....

17s are definitely big enough diameter, but it's hit or miss whether they'll have the depth (not exactly the same as offset) to clear the face of the calipers. I tried some Enkeis (RS6?) that didn't clear, but I've had good luck with Mustang Cobras. And, of course, 17" Supra TT's clear. As for 16s, isn't that what the stock LS400 wheels are?

Yeah I just did my BBK last weekend and I have 19 but the design wont work and I was a fool and did see about the design of the wheel to clear the caliper smh. So option are spacers, spacer and longer wheel studs or different wheels all together.

Wheel clearance
Lots of questions about "Will xxx wheel clear?" All I can say is "Read the original posting!" where I give you a method to check, at least if you can install the wheels in question on the stock setup.
To summarize, it is NOT the offset or the wheel width which determines if the WHEEL will clear the caliper. It is the distance from the wheel mounting surface (the flat part with the mounting holes) to the outer rotor surface combined with the curvature of the spokes. Mount the wheel on the stock brakes and measure the clearance from the inside of the wheel spokes to the rotor at about 5 1/2" from the center of the wheel using a ruler. If it is over 2 1/2" it may fit. If it over 2 3/4" it most likely will.
Will the wheel or tire clear other things does depend on the offset and tire size but if it clears with the stock setup it shouid with the LS400. But don't sue me if it doesn't as there are exceptions I am sure.

Just a heads up guys....make darn sure that your caliper bolts (keeping them on the spindle) are torqued correctly (~87 ft/lbs). If not, one might fall off.
You'll know when that happens.
Don't ask how I figured this out.
The part number is Toyota 47710A. It is the same for many Toyotas from this time.

99 SC300 LS400 Front Calipers and TT Rear Calipers
I finally got my LS400 front and TT rear calipers installed. They clear the ES6 wheels no problem.
*Eline Slotted Rotors
*G2 white paint
*Centric pads (for now)
I can most definitely tell the stopping distance from my stock ones. A good upgrade to do.

Any chance the LS rotors and caliper will fit in a 17" wheel?
wheels are 17x9 6" backspacing and I believe +26 offset.
fair amount of clearance in there but im not sure if the diameter will clear.
will have to go measure this weekend and see how much free space I have

You may want to do a deep dive in the "Wheel and fitment" thread as there are a lot of exchanges on wheel offset and metrics around BBKs (especially LS400 since that is the most popular...).

"It fits, despite the posted requirements of 2 ¾” clearance required. The reason is that the LS rotor is pushed back 3/8” relative to the SC rotor, so my measured 2 ½” clearance on the old SC rotor is actually 2 7/8” clearance on the LS rotor. Take this offset into account when trying to determine if your wheels will clear. Mine have about ¼” of clearance when mounted, a comfortable amount in my mind. Also understand that it not the offset which determines caliper clearance but spoke shape and design."
Meaning if he had 2 1/2" clearance and ended up with 1/4" clearance with the new caliper and rotor, my 2 1/8" clearance would be -1/8" so i'd need 1/8" of clearance to fit with 0 space I need about 3/16" to even have 1/16 if his method is correct

Total noob here when it comes to mods,
I've picked up a pair off an '94 LS400, but I've got a '99 SC400. Will it still work? or am I going backwards and should stick to the stock ones I have now?
