I installed poly caster bushings in my 2001 GS430 about 3 years ago (maybe 20K miles)?

I first noticed this phenomenon during installation. From one of the online how-to references on this forum, I used the technique of first installing the bushing onto the stud, and then jacking the control arm up into the bushing. This worked like a charm, and prevented the need for a press.

However, to my surprise, the control arm went beyond the bushing and looked just like the image above. The bushing was pretty well lubed, but I remember thinking, "hmmmm, that happened so easily it makes me a little nervous to run these poly bushings".

In any case, I made the adjustment, bolted everything up, and it's been fine ever since. I would probably go with stock replacements bushings if I had to do it again.

Also, I read that the Daizen are looser fitting than the ADUS. I used ADUS from Sewell before they closed their doors. So far so good.

Luke
