Default Dealer, F sport brake, and modified dust shield

Brought my car in to have the dealer install f sport brakes up front. Somehow, the dealer was able to modify dust shield to make room for bigger rotor. I told them to take it off but I was told that keeping the dust shield on can prevent water from coming into contact with sensor. Not sure if I'm buying that. The manual specifically indicates the installer to remove the dust shield. Should i be concern on this modified dust shield or should i have them remove it?

^If the shield isn't contacting anything, you're fine. Better to have it than not.

I agree. I say it would be better to have them on. Ask AdamIS350 what happened with his.I would still ask the question why the directions say one thing and they are saying the other.
