upper control arm hitting body when lowered

upper control arm hitting body when lowered
anyone know a way to stop the clunking noise when the upper control arms hit the body without having to cut a hole?

Yea I cut a hole from the bottom side and did not go through all the way to the top metal, so from the engine bay you cant see anything, but it bought me about another 3/8's of an inch.
Now I dont really hit unless I hit a very hard bump pretty fast.

The only problem with cutting the hole, aside from it looks aesthetically ugly is that with allowing the upper arm to go up even further whichs allos a lot more lateral force on your upper ball joint to cause it to wear out very quick. I understand some of you guys have done this for X amount of time, but just some food for thought. I'm playing it safe, I'll be ordering my short knuckles pretty soon.

very good point people always ignore.....your adding more stress to them by cutting this hole.
just cause they make them doesnt this is a safe or proper way to do this....i would be wary myself of a knuckle that has been cut and rewelded. the weld point is always gonna be a weak point on the arm now..... i know its hard to tell from that pic from their site but that weld doesnt look to be very clean anyways so use at your own risk. there was another company who offered these n IMHO there cuts/welds looked much better

I heard JB WELD is good lol yea idk about the whole cutting and welding i dont really like the whole idea cause that knuckle is a very very crucial piece to the suspension assy. i have yet to cut my apron panels but i am going to
