Talking BC Extreme Drop Coilovers

Those of you who are running these (BC Extreme Drop), what spring rates are you guys using for a daily ? Feedbacks needed. Pros and Cons would be nice. Thanks !

16F 14R, still don't really have any pros, I have long ways to soften and I really haven't really played around with the settings.

on the side know there is a bit of a clapping/ clunking noise over bumps in residential streets but I'm not sure if thats normal or what.

I'm running 14/12 works fine for me. It's all based on preference really. They told me the stock 10/8 would be fine but from past experience I bumped It way up

Just keep in mind the stiffer you go the less the suspension will compress over normal daily bumps and the stiffer/harsher it will feel.

ALSO keep in mind that the higher the rates the thicker the spring coils are and the taller the spring is, so that will affect how low you can go.

Usually a stiffer kit over the standard rates is good but not too crazy. This will give you a manageable ride for the street, while being firm enough to handle the drop and still giving you plenty of room to lower the car.

We are very experienced with the BC coilovers, so give us a call or shoot us a message and we can help out anyone interested in setting up a custom kit!

Thanks guys..sounds good to me so far..
I am currently on tein ss and its lowered all the way. So im mainly looking to go lower but at the same time ride quality. So i dont know if i should go with the same spring rates as the ss or not.

I run BC extreme drop...20k front 18k rear...I have the dampening set high...my roads suck...i daily my car...I live in DC...and I love this suspension lol!...if you are used to comfort...then this might not be for you...I forgot how comfort feels like...BUT the way my car feels right now I think is comfortable...but others might not enjoy it everyday...it will def. do what the name implies. CircuitMS hit it on the spot. Good luck!
here are pic of my setup on 18s.

Looks dope ! I'd sacrafice comfort to be low. The roads here in oregon are good in most spots until about downtown area or certain neighborhoods. I think i'd be fine. Thanks for your input . Like your car, purple was a good choice !

BTW AE86, how do you get your lip to stay on ? My lip under the grill part always comes off after a few hard scrapes coming out of a driveway lol.

I had the hardest time keep my front lip on. Until I bolted the sucker on the bumper along with some type of special glue that I bought off of a Marco tool truck. Ever since then, I had no problems. And I scrap my drive way every damn day lol

The bottom I used about 4 screw to hold that thing on but the part that goes right under the grill always comes off cause Im using double sided tape. But its only the passenger side that comes off even though I hit both sides.

You got it off the Matco tool truck ?? What is the name of the glue ? Let me know ! I need it bad lol

Personal reference coming from you, do you like your 14/12 better than 10/8 a lot better ?

Rivets and windshield glue (that black urethane they use to mount it in). With the the right prepwork, that glue will hold forever even without rivets.

LOL funny you ask that...I dont know if I am the only person that does it but I used gasket sealant lol...the reason I used that was cuz since the car was so low, I was always hitting a lot of things...especially in the east coast...soooo with gasket sealant, it would hold it up really good and IF I did hit something hard, the lip would just come off and not take the bumper with it. That lip has survived many many scenarios...I would just grab it...put it on...gasket sealant...leave it for a day and im back in business lol...

Mr Jokster suggestion is a better idea though...that black urethane stuff is awesome

You should ride in a car that has stiff spring rates before you commit. Im on 16/14? Or 14/12 Id prefer to go stiffer, like AE86, 20/18 sounds good especially if you ride low.
