CXracing coilover review

i looked around the forums and didnt see any real in depth review of the budget coilovers. so i decided that i would help some of those people who are in the process of finding affordable coilovers.

first off these coilovers i bought on ebay after making an offer for 629 instead of 679. so i saved an additional 50 bucks right off the bat. these also are made by the same manufacturer that makes the BC coilovers, but with slightly different material. shipping was free and they arrived at my door step in three days, so they come fast. a buddy from the IS forums came and helped me install them and it took us a little over two hours to install.

so far these actually feel pretty good, im still trying to dial in the dampening on the front and rear. but so far no real complaints, it drives well on the roads and feels like stock. i picked these over the megan's because of the wide range of the dampening system, they are 32 way adjustable. 16 clicks on each setting(hard/soft). so if your looking into a set of coilovers for just daily driving then i would say get these for sure.

comments are welcomed.

yes i know i need wheels, im still on the hunt for some

Nice, I was looking at a set of these myself. How much lower can you go or is that maxed out?

Those are the ones I decided on getting, thanks for the review. I will add my feedback once I get mine installed.

Looks like a nice alternative to the megans, although the threads seem super short on those compared to megans. The dampening is a nice touch though.

I can't go any higher but I can pancake my car if I wanted to. I have the coilovers on its highest height setting.

It takes a while to get used to the new setup after riding on the stock soft suspension. But once u get used to it it feels pretty good. Being lower definitely makes me feel safer lol
One thing to mention is this coilover won't bring ur car to stock height on its highest setting. Mine is on its highest setting and it still has about a 1.5-2" drop

ugh i want to see this on the ground. They look just like the BC's and if they are made just like the BC's that means they should be able to get pretty low.

drop looks good. I like the blue. not bad. I havn't seen any hard info that BC manufactures them but BC is a top manufacture for other brands so I don't doubt it. one of the many reasons i want BC's so bad. I wonder which parts could be interchangeable with others...
CX, Megan and godspeed seem to battle it out for the budget products esp. on ebay.
k sport is a step up on the ladder.

nothing wrong with oem wheels on daily driving just get spacers until you get wheels. I'd rather roll on oems and have them eat the potholes than the good set. if im going somewhere fancy or a meet slap the sexys on. prolong life and tire wear

That is a good idea about keeping the wheels and riding on the OEM ones unless I'm going to a meet or somewhere fancy. I've heard they are from the same manufacture but I haven't found any hard evidence either. That's jus what I am hearing around the forums.

If I have sometime this weekend I may test and see how far down these things can go. I'm kind of interested in seeing it myself.

interested in what the rears look like, the fronts are much smaller than my ksports but my ksports are able to slam low up front, rears i have to sag the rear spring so im interested in how these are designed.

Answer300 10-03-13 01:03 PM

what are the spring rates that come on this setup?
