that really doesn't make any sense. Any lowered car has more stress on suspension parts than a non lowered vehicle.. Its the added weight of the vehicle at a lesser height. How is it less stress?

Because imagine stock suspension, it flexes more when hitting bumps etc. Or even turning the car rolls, now look at a lowered car on coils, it's stiff, doesn't flex at all so the sway bar basically stays in one position and bends a bit when turning. Yes the bar is in a different position when lowered but doesn't bend as much when lowered compared to oem

BINGO! As what was stated earlier by some member is NOT a valid excuse for these "premium" bars. They should be made to at least the same sandard as th OEM bar or better due to costs I constanly see floating on ths board.

I'm with you on this. This reason is one of the main problems why lbj's snap earlier than it's faulty oem design life line.

Just my $0.02:

Springs and anti-sway bars are measures to change roll stiffness. They are not mutually dependent or independent. Did the weld give way? There are ways to determine failure mode. Brother sent away an Italian bicycle handlebar that snapped in use to LeHigh University for some student study years ago.

I had my Intrax front sway bar break similar to that. I was coming out of a gas station slowly & i heard it pop.

there is some rust there. your endlink looks rusted as well. wonder if that had anything to do with the failure. I noticed some creaking on my stock sway bar and found out that one of my endlinks were out of grease on the top. replaced it and smooth with no noise.

just my .02 keep your suspension, exhaust parts , inner rim barrels atleast some what clean. this way you wont be surprised about anything. hopefully. good luck

There's not a lot of steel there where it broke at that 3rd hole. Not too surprising that fatigued over time. If you only use the middle hole for mounting as shown in the pic, just have the bar re-welded and have the hole filled in for additional strength.

the rust had nothing to do with it snapping, imo.

yes, the endlinks do have some rust...only because its not coated with anything...its exposed metal.

the daizen sway bar is coated. the point of the breakage was not rusted....and not exposed to the elements. notice that I used the middle hole for the rear sway bar. if anything, it would break there since tighten the bolt may have compromised the coating...but again, that was not the case.

regarding the daizen bars was made specifically for lowered cars makes theoretical sense...since there are more side forces when the car is up on stock level vs. lowered levels. I don't think Daizen marketed their sway bars that way...it was meant for any susp height. I personally think it is a weak spot on the sway bar.
