Default 2008 IS250 Brakes and Rotors ?

Hello..

I have an IS250 08 53K. I drive normal to and from work.

I am debating on what to put as far as new brakes and rotors.

I found these OEM front pretty cheap
http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-13-IS250-Rear-Brake-Pads-and-Rotors-set-kit-NEW-genuine-Lexus-OEM-/171091809950?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AIS250&hash=item27d5ddd69e&vxp=mtr
i found the back as well.

I also saw some aftermarket that are "cross drilled" with 4 rotors and pads for 200.00 is that complete junk?

then you have your high performance that could be 600-800

what do you guys suggest.. I really like stock but wasn't sure what to put.. I also heard Centric makes the Lexus rotor.. is that true

thanks guys

I asked the same question in the brakes section. I was already hesitant about the ebay specials for $200. There are some parts you can get away with by getting cheap ebay specials however, brakes aren't one of them. Now for your set up It really just depends on your driving style. I went with Centric blanks and OEM pads for all four. Can't beat OEM for the price I got the whole set up for $300 with the homie hookup lol..GL

If you guys do NOT care for looks, get blank rotors.

Drilled/slotted rotors are for looks and will eat up pads 25% faster. Drilled are also at risk for cracking if your track the car.

Something above.....? In regards to what?

There are 4 main types of rotors: blanks, slotted, drilled, and slotted/drillled. All of theme except blanks will eat up your pads faster. The car will not stop shorter with these other types of rotors. They are just for looks.

I went for looks so I have slotted/drilled. Go with blank rotors and oem low dust pads

I would go for centric blanks and OEM dustless pads. Really can't beat that combination for the price. For the rotors just make your get get the Centric Premium rotors that are at least OEM quality. The now also have High Carbon rotors which are suppose to be a nice upgrade it you want to spend a few more bucks.

They don't. Centric rotors have a different finish vs oem rotors. There is also a review of centric rotors in my.is forums

Both of the above links are legit.

Yes, sign up for a Sewell Lexus account using your ClubLexus account info, and you'll get a discount. Here's a link to the 2008 IS250 service parts : http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...S250-2008.html

^Did you sign up for a Sewell account using your Club Lexus info? Usually they're the best priced with shipping/taxes. If not, I've got to start shopping around more.

I did a search on lexuspartsnow before and found some bad feedback. Stick with Sewell or a legit Lexus dealer on eBay.
