Default Control Arm Bushings

When driving over even the smallest bump, my car feels like I just hit the biggest pothole. Prior to buying my car last month, Toyota told me it was the rear upper control arms. My question is how do they narrow it down to just that? Is there a way of testing the bushings without dismembering the entire suspension? I am wondering if I need to replace all control arm bushings, both front and rear, upper and lower? And is each bushing a different size?
Thanks, let me know!
