im probably gonna get called a newbie for thi question but it doesnt matter...since ive really only had the car for a bout a month and a half, and ive searched all over the forum and cant find a clear answer.....what other option do awd 250s have besides the 3k f sport and the 900 dollar sewell is350 upgrade?....im pretty sure ive seen some awd 250s with 350 upgrades mentioned that they put together their own is350 "bbk"....any other options besides this?.....

the 350 brake would be your easiest/cheapest option. unless you wanted something like a K Sport BBK but thats gonna get pricey front and rear

Not sure about the compatibility between the RWD and AWD brakes, but you can put together your own bbk by buying the 350 calipers and a set of rotors that will fit the 350. Thats what I did

As far as I know
OEM calipers are interchangeable between 250/350/AWD/RWD, which makes me BELIEVE that aftermarket calipers should too
Rotors on the other hand are AWD/RWD specific
A local member here did a 250-to-350 front brake upgrade with calipers from a 350 RWD, and new 350 AWD rotors

I'm quoting my own previous post to answer this thread...

Originally I had said that those didn't clear the hub but after thinking about it again that didn't make sense. So what I did was try it again and found out that during my original trial process the delivery guy delivered the wrong rotor to my mechanic and he never bothered to cross reference part numbers.
So no need to modify anything to your hubs if you just get IS350 AWD rotors.

Joe

i know this is an old thread but maybe you guys can answer a few questions that i have in regards to doing a brake upgrade. I have a 2010 is250 AWD. From my understanding, I would have to buy is350 calipers, is350 awd rotors and modify the dust shield. Is that correct? My other question is does the year of the 350 matter or are they same rotor and caliper 05-13. Are there any DIY threads you can link me to? Thanks in advance
