Default Tom's rear lower chassis brace (pics)

This is a very sturdy nice piece that complimented the Tom's upper rear strut bar I already had.

The back end is no longer 'jiggly' after you install them. Great mods.

Wow..the rear strut braces on the GS are much lower than the first gen LS's.

After I removed the rear deck in my car I discovered the shocks are topped right behind the headrests. At leat on the GS they are in the trunk.

Nice mod Bit! I had the exact same results...less jiggly rear end...luckily, due to the lack of resonators on my GS, I upgraded to the "Type A" bar (the full "box") from the "Type B"....didn't notice much of a difference....

Manaray, if you had to choose between the type A and B, which one would you recomend?

Remember Richie, you can't use Type A if you have the stock exhaust piping.

Yeah I got that, I just wanted to know if it was worth the trouble of changing the exhaust for the type A.
Sorry for the bad choice of words.

Honestly, I would say if you're happy with the exhaust system that is on your car now and the "Type A" won't fit (due to the resonators or whatnot) don't bother changing it just for the sake of doing the "Type A" brace.

However, if you CAN do he "Type A" brace, I would take it over a "Type B". TOM'S doesn't tend to make stuff just for the sake of making it...you know what I mean? If the "Type-B" was "good enough", then wouldn't have bothered jigging up to make a "Type A"...

Is the upper bar in the trunk required in order to install the lower rear brace? Would there be a big difference without the trunk bar as far as handling goes?

No the upper bar isn't required, but it kinda makes sense to do both to make a rigid 'box' if you follow me.

The lower one alone would add some stiffness. A "big difference" is hard to quantify. Not as big as changing springs and shocks for example.

But adding both is definitely noticeable.
