Default Big time noisy rattling from suspension...

My front suspension is making a lot of noise (rattling type) at low speed over road bumps. Sounds like something's loose. Strangely, no noise at speed when going over bumps.

Anyone have a clue?

Could a recent alignment have messed something up?

The car seems to handle fine though.

Bit,

Double check your sway bars mount brackets.

Agreed this is first thing I'd check.

Also check your ball joints and lower control arms.

Bit, the sway bar mounting brackets are notorious for loosening up and would produce those symptoms, eg, rattling like the front end's going to fall off without any noticeable effect on handling.

Ball joints/ tie rods COULD do that, but you might notice some steering wonkiness.

My bet (and hope) is on the sway bar brackets.

Merry Xmas!!

Hey Bit join the Club... I've been having a loose rattling noise coming from my frontend for the last 2 months... Same thing like you, going slow the noise (rattle) is there but at high speeds it stays quiet....

I also hear a similar rattle noise going slow over bumps and my car is stock, so i dont know what this could be. The noise comes and goes, it started like a month ago. Im gonna take it to the dealer, see what they can do.

In looking underneath tonight, something doesn't seem right. The left 'link' seems to tilt inward unlike the right one, and I can make a bit of noise on either side when I pull the bar back and forth. Time to visit the dealer...

hopefully it's the bolts got lossen up. todd of tm engineering told me while install my sways that bolts on the gs tends to loosen up after time, and specially when you change the sway they will loosen up even faster. that's why when he installed my sways, he took a LONG time and took out all the bolts, put on bolt tight and screw them back in. talk about serious about their work

Thumbs up

Ya, some loose bolts not attaching the sway bar itself, but attaching these metal square box things to the frame. The sway attaches to the square box. Problems solved. VVT-i is THE MAN
