Default Shim Kit IS300 Sport Cross, help!

Hello everyone

I have today bought the shim kit for the front brakes on my Sport Cross. I am in doubt where the black grease has to be. There is a plate at the same size as the brake pad and a plate which is smaller and has to be between the brake pad and the large plate of the shim kit.
So is it between the two plates, between the shim kit and the brake pad or between the shim kit and the brake caliper?
Watch this link to see the original catalogue:
http://www.*******.com/parts/p_E_200...AVFW_4705.html

Another thing. The plate beside the brake caliper is not painted. Is it a good idea to do that with some heat resistant spray paint?

Here is some pictures of the shim kit:

This is the complete kit

Which way shall the arrow point? Upwards or downwards?

The thin metal is the outer shim and the thicker shim is the inner anti squeal shims.

The grease is going to go on both sides of the thicker shim.

The paint is for aesthetics.

The arrow goes in the direction of the wheel motion. arrows need to face the front of the car.

I highly suggest you down load the Factory service manual on my.is 1st-gen showroom and the Technical Schematic Bulletins in the 1st-gen go faster section. this will help better explain the IS and repairing stuff.
