Default Drilled/Slotted Rotors???

I'm new to CL so please excuse me if this has been discussed but I wanted a for sure answer. I have a 98 GS with 20" wheels (235/30 front 275/30 rear) and since putting the wheels on I have noticed a slight difference in braking (of course). I've been thinking to upgrading to drilled/slotted rotor and a better pad. A few friends have told me to go with EBC Green stuff. Just wondering what brands of rotors and pads to look for that will be worth the upgrade. I was also thinking of installing the eibach pro-kit also, any input? Thanks

EBC greenstuffs are good pads and last a long time under normal street use, there are other great pads out there as well for more money. If you want a quality replacement rotor just get a brembo blank or an ebc. If you want the looks get whatever slotted/driller/dimpled/coated rotor you want in the price range your looking, they will all be just modified centrics 'or worse' until you spend big money and then you might as well go BBK.

I will refrain from any pro/con/myth of rotor/caliper/pad types and sizes, as likely some other guys will probably preach their 'opinions' on you.

BTW, needs more low

Slotted and drilled rotors are for looks only will not improve your braking (maybe a little if your rotors are soaking wet) they will make a wirring noise (a faint one) when applying brakes softly. I like the akebono pads. Centric is a good rotor that does not cost too much. Bigger brakes will reduce fade and may give you a firmer pedal feel but will not improve braking distance (unless you are experiencing fade, that is brake loss due to multiple heavy use of brakes that cause the brakes to overheat, like on mountain roads or race tracks). The big brakes will tend not to warp since you should not get them as hot. If you can lock your brakes, or activate the abs, then the limiting factor for your braking distance is the tires and suspension.

I had drilled and slotted rotors on m GS4 and I noticed a firmer pedal and a slight increase in braking not to mention how amazing they look. I'm going back to stock and selling my old ones. heres the link if youre interested: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2ge...strut-bar.html

So if they are so great why are you going back to stock?

Thanks everyone for your replys. All great info. LOL @sam12345, i was wondering the same about him going back stock. I don't do much driving on steep inclines so I will probably go with EBC pads and either brembo or EBC rotors. I will definitely be putting the Eibach prokit on to get a little lower. Brakes are coming first though. A little higher on the priority list lol. More pics and questions are sure to come.

What kind of miles (life) are you getting out of your cars? I'm at 200k and had water pump etc done at 160 by previous owner. Thanks guys
